LOS ANGELES – According to the Los Angeles police spokeswoman Venus Hall, Brown was pulled over in the Topanga area at around 1 am Wednesday when police observed the singer driving erratically on an L.A. street.
When police officers approached his vehicle, they detected a strong odor of alcohol and asked Brown to get out of the vehicle. He was asked to perform a field sobriety test, which he did not do well at.
The singer – ex-husband of late diva Whitney Houston was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked at the Van Nuys jail. However, he was later released. A representative for Brown could not be contacted immediately.

Brown was arrested earlier this year in March for DUI. He pleaded no contest following his arrest in Los Angeles and sought treatment for alcohol abuse issues over the summer. The rehabilitation program was part of a plea agreement.
