SAN FRANCISCO – Kwame Harris, former San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman, was arrested Sunday night on several charged including hit-and-run.
According to SFPD spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan, a person reporting an incapacitated driver flagged down officers near 14th Street and South Van Ness at around 7:30 p.m. The officers started a search and eventually found a man passed out in a black Audi sedan with the engine still running.
The suspect appeared to be high on drugs according to Gatpandan. During the interrogation, he even became agitated ad tried to bite an officer. Luckily the officer was not harmed.
The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Harris, was eventually taken into custody.
Investigators also found out that Harris was driving the same Audi when it collided with a car at Hyde and Broadway, and an RV on the 1700 block of Harrison Street earlier.
Harris is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence, hit, and run and aggravated assault.
His previous record shows that he was convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence charges in August 2012 with an attack on a former boyfriend.
