STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – 35-year-old Zowie Lausia Tesar of El Cajon is facing several charges including driving while intoxicated after an incident that took place early Tuesday morning.
According to police reports, the California woman was traveling at the intersection of Drumgoole Road West and Richmond Avenue about 12:40 a.m when a driver cut her off, causing her to hit a barrier and flip her 2012 Dodge sedan.
When police arrived at the scene, they smelled alcohol on her breath. Her car was found flipped. Upon enquiry, she stated, “I had a beer two hours ago.”
Her blood alcohol content was tested in the field and recorded at .130 percent, well above the allowed legal limit of 0.
