Sausalito Woman arrested for Alleged DUI after violating traffic laws


SAUSALITO – 49-year-old Huyen Tran, of Sausalito, was arrested for DUI Thursday after she allegedly violated traffic laws near the police station.

The woman was booked into the Marin County jail.

According to a Sausalito parking enforcement officer, the driver of a Toyota sedan failed to stop at a stop sign.

The incident took place on Caledonia Street near Johnson Street in Sausalito around 2:30 p.m.

Lt. Kurtis Skoog reported that the female driver then started driving south on the northbound-only section of Caledonia Street before making a sudden right turn and parking her vehicle on the wrong side of Johnson Street.

This area was reserved for police vehicles and she parked her vehicle right in front of an occupied police car.

The Sausalito parking enforcement officer kept her under surveillance until a police officer arrived at the scene.

Upon interrogation, the police officer found out that the driver showed signs of impairment. She had poor balance and coordination and was given field sobriety tests which she failed.

Tran was arrested for DUI and booked into the Marin County jail. She is facing two misdemeanor DUI charges. Her bail was set at $5,200.
