67-Year-Old Indio Man Arrested After Alleged DUI Crash

On Wednesday, 67-year-old David Pennington was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and involving in a crash that occurred in La Quinta.

The incident happened on Tuesday at the intersection of Avenue 52 and Jefferson Street around 4:48 p.m.

According to Sheriff Sgt. Andrew Nielsen, the Indio man was sent to the local hospital for a precautionary checkup after which he was transferred to the Riverside County jail and locked up for the offense he committed.

He also told that Pennington was driving in the roundabout and crashed into another vehicle in which 2 individuals were travelling. The driver and passenger of the other motor vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries in the accident for which they were rushed to a local hospital.
