Suspected Drunk Driver Slams Into El Cerrito Police Car


EL CERRITO – A 37-year-old man hit a patrol car in the 800 block of Richmond Street. Luckily, the El Cerrito police officer sitting inside it didn’t sustain any injury.

The vehicle crashed in the patrol car around 8:55 p.m. and escaped the scene after damaging the driver’s side door of the patrol car.

The individual who was behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck the patrol car was intoxicated.

The cops who were sent to the incident spot succeeded in searching the suspect some time after the crash and they took him into custody for DUI.

The suspect didn’t sustain any injury in the incident.
