Wrong-way drunken driver kills six in Southern California

According to the authorities, 21-year-old Olivia Carolee Culbreath, a drunken wrong-way driver in Southern California, slammed head-on into an SUV due to which six individuals died.

According to the Los Angeles Times report, Culbreath faces felony charges of DUI and manslaughter in the fatal collision.

Witnesses said Culbreath was driving at a speed of more than 100 mph. The accident occurred less than an hour prior to another deadly head-on accident that killed 5 in Florida.

Culbreath suffered life-threatening injuries in which a broken femur and ruptured bladder are included. She was transferred to a Los Angeles hospital.

According to the investigation, she was travelling east in a red Chevrolet Camaro when she collided with a red Ford Explorer travelling the other way on State Route 60.

2 individuals were thrown out of the vehicle. 4 died at the scene and two more died at a nearby hospital.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball, 1 of the vehicles also collided with a 3rd vehicle and the driver of that vehicle also suffered injuries.

As the investigators searched for proofs, the roadway was closed through the lunch hour due to the 4:40 a.m. crash.

Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office told the Los Angeles Times, they “believe from what they found in the vehicle that alcohol was involved”.

The individuals who died in the deadly accident were not released by the police.

The Orlando Sentinel reported, ‘4 fraternity brothers died in a fiery head-on collision with Ford Expedition in Florida’. The driver of the SUV also died in the collision.

21-year-old Jobin Joy Kuriakose was driving a Hyundai with the frat brothers, 22-year-old Anketet Harshad Patel, 20-year-old ImtiyazI lias and 21-year-old Dammie Yesudhas who were the passengers. They collided with the SUV at about 2 a.m. north Tampa on highway 275.

The name of the SUV driver wasn’t immediately released.
