South San Francisco Man Arrested For DUI After Backing Into Pedestrian

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO – According to the police, a South San Francisco man was taken into custody early Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence after he struck a pedestrian backing out of his driveway.

South San Francisco police responded to the incident that happened at 200 block of North Access Road about reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian; the police reached the accident spot at about 6:30 a.m. When the cops approached the scene, they found that an individual walking on the sidewalk had been struck by 55-year-old David Dufficy as he was backing out of his driveway, told the police.

Police also told that the pedestrian sustained minor injuries in the accident and when officers spoke with Dufficy, they found that he was a repeat DUI offender and that he was driving under the influence.

He was taken into custody on suspicion of felony DUI and booked into San Mateo County Jail on $100,000 bail.
